Dissolved Air Flotation System

Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a waste water treatment  process that clarifies Waste Water containing oils  in emulsified form  by the removal of suspended matter such as oil or solids. The removal is achieved by dissolving air in the water or wastewater under pressure and then releasing the air at atmospheric pressure in a flotation tank or basin. The released air forms tiny bubbles which adhere to the suspended matter causing the suspended matter to float to the surface of the water where it may then be removed by a skimming device.
Dissolved air flotation is very widely used in treating the industrial waste water effluents from oil refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, natural gas plants, paper mills, general water treatment and similar industrial facilities.

Mechanical Rake Type Coarse Bar Screen

AMRABAR (Akar Mechanical Rack type Bar) Screens are popular where the sewage or waste water received at much greater depth. Mechanical Rack type Bar Screens are used to pick up floating materials such as paper bags, plastic, leaves, threads, hair etc. from Waste Water. AMRABAR (Akar Mechanical Rack type Bar) Screens have a large screen at the bottom. A scraper scraps the materials and brings it to the top, from where it is mechanically unloaded onto a conveyor belt, which transfers it to a waiting trolley. These screens are about 1 metre to 2 metres height and about the same width. The spacing between bars is 15 mm to 25 mm. the angle of inclination is about 15 degrees to the perpendicular.

ADBR (Akar Dynamic Bio-Reactor) Sewage Treatment Plant is available in many configurations. For major contractors, their sites are not permanent. They keep on shifting their locations. Grit Removal System for Waste Water Treatment Plant

Akar designs, manufactures and supplies various types of grit removal systems. Grit is made of fine solid particles resembling and containing large percentage of sand. This being heavier than water settles sown at the bottom of various tanks and creates considerable problems in treatment. This has to be removed. In many case removal of sand is simple. However, in many case and particularly large size Waste Water Treatment Plants grit removal is challenging. Design of grit removal systems vary depending of the space available, quantum of grit, depth at which Waste Water is received (invert level) etc.
Shown in the picture is a Pre-Treatment unit, which treats water not only for grit but also for oil and grease and screenings.

Basket Screen for Waste Water Treatment Plant

Automatic Basket screens are used where the depth of the channels is more and space available on the ground is restricted. In this equipment screenings are picked up by a moving basket. The basket functions as the main screen. After a pre-designed interval, the basket gets disengaged from its position and moves to the top (ground level). While the main basket screen is away, a secondary screen replaces it so as not to allow screenings to escape, whilst the main screen moves up. Shown above is an installed Bar Screen chamber from where floating materials are picked up by basket screen and delivered to the top of the surface in a static trolley or a bin. Sometimes conveyors are deployed to clear the screenings to a waiting trolley or a static bin

Sludge Thickeners

Thickening is the process by which biosolids are condensed to produce a concentrated solids product and a relatively solids-free supernatant. Thickening wastewater solids reduces the volume of residuals, improves operation, and reduces costs for subsequent storage, processing, transfer, end use, or disposal. For example, thickening liquid-solids
(slurry) from 3 to 6 percent will reduce the volume by 50 percent.

Akar has designed and supplied several Sludge Thickening devices. There are several different methods for thickening bio-solids, including dissolved air floatation (DAF), centrifugal thickening, gravity belt thickening, and gravity thickening. Gravity thickening uses the natural tendency of higher-density solids to settle out of liquid to concentrate the solids. We supply all these devices.
