Pond Aeration System

Where space is not a constraint many customers use facultative ponds for treatment of sewage. In these ponds bacteria are developed to treat sewage. Aerators are installed to aerate the water to increase dissolved oxygen for the bacteria to survive. Akar manufactures Floating surface aerators, which can be installed in such ponds. Apart from aerators, Akar also designs and manufactures Mooring System required to keep aerators from moving away from their designated locations.

Lake Aeration system

In order to treat sewage with minimum energy consumption sewage is accumulated in lined lakes with geo thermal membrane placed t the bottom of the lake. Where space is not a constraint, this system of sewage treatment is used. Shown above are Akar Floating Surface aerators installed in lake. Akar also supplied comprehensive range of mooring equipment to hold the aerators in place and to move them out of the ponds or lakes as and when required for maintenance or removal. Mechanical Screen for Waste Water

Mechanical screens are used to pick up coarse floating materials such as paper, plastic bags, tree leaves, cloth etc. Different types of mechanical screens are used for different sites. The type of screen to be selected depends upon the depth of the receipt of sewage, Space available on the surface, quantity of screening materials in the waste water, type of screenings etc. Akar manufactures Basket Screens, Rake type Coarse Bar Screens, Screw Screens etc. Shown above is AMRABAR Akar Mechanical Bar Screen in operation.

Mechanical Bar Screen for Waste Water

Mechanical Bar Screens are used for bigger Waste Water Treatment Plants, where depth of water makes it mandatory to apply a mechanical system to collect floating materials (called screenings) from the flow of waste water. Shown above is a mechanical screen installed at  a municipal Sewage Treatment Plant pumping station. These screens are very popular amongst Municipal Sewage Treatment plants. A large number of such screens are in operation in India and overseas. Akar manufactures AMRABAR (Akar Mechanical Rack type Bar) Screens in stainless construction.

Screw Screen for Waste Water

Screw types of screens are used where the channel is not too deep. By means of screw, either grit or screenings are removed from waste water pit. This is comparatively a simpler device and is popularly used for shallow depths or for surface removal of screening materials. Screw screens are inexpensive, simple to operate and maintain and have a fairly long durability. They are available in Stainless steel, Galvanized Steel or M.S. Epoxy coated Materials. Akar manufacture different types of screw screens and grit removal systems. We have supplied Screw type screens to a number of clients.

Automatic Screen for Waste Water

Automatic Basket screens are used where the depth of the channels is more and space available on the ground is restricted. In this equipment screenings are picked up by a moving basket. The basket functions as the main screen. After a pre-designed interval, the basket gets disengaged from its position and moves to the top (ground level). While the main basket screen is away, a secondary screen replaces it so as not to allow screenings to escape, whilst the main screen moves up. Shown above is an installed Bar Screen chamber from where floating materials are picked up by basket screen and delivered to the top of the surface in a static trolley or a bin. Sometimes conveyors are deployed to clear the screenings to a waiting trolley or a static bin.

Moving Bed Bioreactor Systems

Moving Bed Bio-Reactor systems are principally applied in Akar’s designing of its ADBR (Akar Dynamic Bio-Reactor) systems. These systems are based on the principle of dynamic media which revolves and moves around in a reactor in which aeration occurs. Since the media is dynamic all of its surface is exposed to aeration and thus no area is starved od oxygen. Thus the efficiency of ADBR (Akar Dynamic Bio-Reactor) systems based on MBBR principle is much higher than Fixed Bed Reactors of Activated Sludge processes. Akar’s ADBR (Akar Dynamic Bio-Reactor) systems are available in M.s Epoxy coated construction. On special demand we can supply S.S. Fabricated tanks also.
